Josh and Liz discuss being introspective and the responsibility that comes with self-awareness. Josh finally allows gratitude in (after many great losses in his early adulthood) as a result of his first LSD experience. The opportunity to speak out loud of the deaths he’d experienced, paired with the drug, led to feeling the physical sensation of support by those he’d loved and lost -- and gratitude for getting to release the pain and accept those losses and what each had taught him.
We can LEARN to operate in a
different way, but it’s on us to search for that knowledge. Josh
summarizes use of the “wellness toolbox” to individualize our
healing and growth during times of difficulty. Making amends and
what that entails. Josh tells his story of 20 days in prison:
choosing to “raise your hand to life” and to connect with those
around you. How time to reflect is imperative for the journey and
self-reflection. Liz shares the guilt from leaving her last
relationship and how that was the beginning of her journey - the
deployment, self-reflection that ensued as a result of time, and
how it all led to this self. Liz & Josh connect over trauma, taking
responsibility, guilt, and gratitude.
